Abstract

This research aims to produce an electronic module (e-module) based on group investigations on sound wave material that is suitable for use to determine user responses to the e-module being developed, as well as measuring the effectiveness of the e-module in physics learning in increasing students' understanding of concepts. This research was conducted at SMAS YPK Medan involving 35 participants, namely class XI Science students. This research was carried out in May-June 2024. This research used a research and development design. The development model used in this research is the 4D model developed by Thiagrajan et al (1974). However, this research is limited to only three stages, namely define, design, and development. The research results show that the validity or feasibility test by material experts obtained an assessment percentage of 97,66% with very appropriate qualitative assessment criteria. The media expert's assessment obtained an assessment percentage of 85,43%, with very adequate qualitative assessment criteria. The feasibility test from the teacher obtained an assessment percentage of 93,95%, with very appropriate qualitative assessment criteria. For the small scale test, the assessment percentage was 87,05%, with very adequate qualitative assessment criteria. The large-scale test obtained an assessment percentage of 89%, with very adequate qualitative assessment criteria. The effectiveness of e-modules in increasing students' conceptual understanding is included in the high criteria, with an average gain value of 0.80.
