Pengaruh Model Pembelajaran Inkuiri Terbimbing Dengan Bantuan PhET Terhadap Hasil Belajar Siswa Kelas X Pada Materi di SMA Negeri 1 Pematang Siantar T.P 2023/2024
Abstract
This study aimed to determine whether the guided inquiry learning model assisted by PhET simulations could improve student learning outcomes in energy materials for Grade X students at SMAN 1 Pematangsiantar. The research used a quasi-experimental design with a control group pretest-posttest design. The population consisted of 432 Grade X students at SMAN 1 Pematang Siantar. The sample was selected using cluster random sampling, with class X-3 (36 students) as the control class and class X-4 (36 students) as the experimental class. A validated 15-question multiple-choice test was used as the test instrument, followed by hypothesis testing using the t-test and effect size to determine the influence. The study found that the average pretest scores were 35.92 for the experimental class and 40.18 for the control class. A two-tailed t-test showed that the initial abilities of the two classes were the same. After different treatments, the experimental class using the guided inquiry learning model and the control class using direct instruction, the post-test results were 75.92 for the experimental class and 55.55 for the control class. A one-tailed t-test with a significance level of α=0.05 showed t_hitung>t_tabel (9.42 > 1.994), indicating a difference in the average scores between the two classes. The effect size test showed results ≥0.8, indicating a significant influence. Therefore, it can be concluded that the application of the guided inquiry learning model assisted by PhET simulations has a significant effect on improving student learning outcomes in energy materials for Grade X students at SMAN 1 Pematangsiantar.
