Abstract

This study aims to determine the problem solving abilities of students in learning physics through the application of the Problem Based Learning model and the Differentiated approach. This study used a quasi-experimental in the form of a Two Group Pretest - Posttest Design. This study used 2 classes as research samples, XI PMIPA 1 as the experimental class and XI PMIPA 2 as the control class. Research data is in the form of problem-solving abilities as seen from student learning outcomes and then analyzed using the Normality Test, Homogeneity Test, N-Gain Test, and Hypothesis Test. The results of the data analysis show that the data is normally distributed and the samples tested are homogeneous. Furthermore, in the N-Gain test, the problem-solving ability of the experimental class students increased in the high-level improvement category. Then based on the hypothesis testing carried out, the Problem-Based Learning model with a Differentiated approach can improve students' physics problem-solving abilities.
