Abstract

This study is motivated by learning has not started by providing authentic problems, so that when students are faced with a problem students are less able to respond and determine solutions to the problem solving. This type of research is a quasi experiment. The results showed that there was an effect of using the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model on learning outcomes on global warming material in class X SMA Negeri 8 Medan. This is evidenced from the t-test results with a significant level of 5% (0.05) obtained t count (4.466) > t table (1.998). It can be concluded that the learning outcomes of students in the experimental class taught using the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model are classified as very high criteria, with the learning outcomes obtained the maximum score is 95 and the minimum score is 60 while the average value of the experimental class is 82.428. Thus the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model can affect student learning outcomes in class.
